Build and hear your story on a walk, on a hike, or in the car. Crystal-clear text-to-speech reads each part aloud, and you answer by voice, hands-free.
Let the story wander
Every part you add can change where the story goes. Pick one of three ideas, say your own, or leave it open and be surprised. If it heads somewhere you don’t like, rewrite or adjust that part.
You’re in charge
The AI writes each part, but the story is yours. You choose the idea for every turn, edit any part by hand or ask for a new version, and say when it ends. The AI never takes over.

Pick a starting point
Fantasy, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Adventure, Romance, or Horror. Name your hero and choose a setting. More extensive options are available with an upgrade.
Hear where it begins
The AI writes the first part and reads it aloud while you follow along.
Steer it
Choose one of three suggested ideas, or type or speak your own. Or leave it open and be surprised. You decide every turn.
Find out where it ends
The ending comes from the turns you took. Then add a cover and a title.

Free stories, written on your iPhone
Mini Stories run up to five parts and are written by an AI model that runs entirely on your device. Try it free until you’re ready to upgrade for richer stories.
Narrated aloud
Your story is read to you in a natural voice, with twenty voices to choose from and a speed you control. It works with Apple’s Now Playing, so you can leave your story playing in the background and enjoy it while you do something else.
Talk to your story
Say what should happen next, hands-free. Say “play it again,” “pause,” or “end the story” and it listens. Once the story starts, feel free to let your imagination wander, hands-free.
Richer, longer stories when you want them
Short Stories run up to twelve parts and Long Stories up to twenty-four, with deeper characters and stronger plots from advanced AI cloud models.
Covers and titles
Get cover art made from your story’s own characters and setting, plus a title suggested from what you wrote.

Rewrite any part by hand or ask for a new version. Export a PDF, or send a Wander file to a friend by AirDrop, email, or text.

Audio Only Mode and CarPlay
Take your story for a wander
Wander Story narrates your story, then asks what happens next and listens for your answer. Use it with headphones on a walk or a hike, or on a drive: start Audio Only Mode on your iPhone, and when your iPhone is connected to CarPlay the story plays through your car and appears on the CarPlay Now Playing screen.
What you see on CarPlay (Now Playing)
- The CarPlay Now Playing screen shows your story title, the chapter, and the cover
- Play, pause, and previous or next chapter, from the screen or your car’s media controls
Wander Story does not have its own CarPlay screens, so set up your story and choose its parts on your iPhone. In Audio Only Mode on your iPhone, just talk to it: your reply becomes the next part of the story, and these phrases work too:
- “Play it again”
- “Listen to the options again”
- “Pause”
- “End the story”
- “Help”
Please keep your eyes on the road. Wander Story is built to be used without looking at your phone, and you should never hold or touch your phone while driving. On a walk or hike, stay aware of traffic, trails, and people around you.

A Short Story is up to twelve parts, a Long Story up to twenty-four, and a Mini Story up to five.
