Terms of Service

Apple’s standard agreement

Wander Story is licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). It covers your license to use the app, termination, warranties, limits of liability, and governing law, so we do not repeat them here.

This page adds a few terms that are specific to Wander Story: AI-generated stories, acceptable use, the Gemma model, your stories, and plans. The Standard EULA and these additional terms are an agreement between you and Three Coves Consulting LLC (“we,” “us”), not Apple. By downloading or using Wander Story you agree to both, and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If the two conflict about your license to use the app, the Standard EULA controls.

Who can use Wander Story

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use Wander Story only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. You are responsible for using the app in line with the laws where you live.

AI-generated stories

Wander Story uses artificial intelligence to write stories, titles, and cover art. AI can make mistakes. It may write things that are inaccurate, strange, repetitive, or that you find upsetting, and different people may receive similar stories. A story is fiction: do not rely on it as fact or advice. You are responsible for reviewing what the app generates before you share or publish it. See the AI safety section of our Privacy Policy for the protections we use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Wander Story, or the AI features in it, to create, request, or share content or do anything that:

  • breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • sexualizes or endangers children, or is sexually explicit;
  • promotes or glorifies violence, self-harm, terrorism, hate, or harassment;
  • gives instructions for weapons, illegal drugs, malware, or other harm;
  • is defamatory, deceptive, or impersonates a real person in a misleading way;
  • tries to get around the app’s safety features or to extract its instructions.

The AI models behind Wander Story are also covered by their makers’ use rules. You agree not to use the app in any way that is prohibited by Google’s Gemma Prohibited Use Policy or by OpenAI’s Usage Policies, each as updated from time to time. We may refuse, block, or remove content that breaks these rules.

Gemma 3 and Mini Stories

Free Mini Stories are written by Gemma 3 1B, an open model from Google that runs inside the app on your iPhone. Gemma is provided under the Gemma Terms of Use, and the Gemma notice and a link to those terms are on our Licenses page and in the app under Settings, About, Licenses. If you use Mini Stories, you also agree that:

  • you will not use Gemma, or anything it writes in the app, in a way that the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy forbids. That policy is part of these terms, and Google and we can enforce it as it applies to Gemma;
  • Gemma and what it writes are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, and Google is not liable for damages arising from Gemma or its outputs;
  • Google claims no rights in what Gemma writes for you, and you are responsible for how you use it;
  • you will not take Gemma’s files out of the app to use or share on their own, except as the Gemma Terms of Use allow.

Because Gemma runs on your device, the text of your Mini Stories is not sent to Google or to us.

Your stories and who owns them

You keep whatever rights you have in the ideas and text you provide and in the stories you create. As between you and us, we claim no ownership of your stories. Our AI providers also state that they claim no rights in the outputs the models create for you. You give us only the permission needed to run the app for you, such as sending your story details to our AI provider to write the next part. Because the law on AI-generated material is still developing, we cannot promise that you will be able to hold a copyright in any part that an AI wrote. You are responsible for your stories and for how you use and share them. We are not responsible for what other people do with a story you share.

Plans and billing

Wander Story is free to start. Optional plans give you extra story and cover art allowances. Plans are auto-renewing annual subscriptions bought through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple account, and your plan renews each year at the then-current price until you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel in your Apple account settings. Plans stack, and the allowances for each plan are described in the app and on our website at the time of purchase. Apple processes refunds; we cannot refund App Store purchases directly. Prices are shown in US dollars on our website and may vary by country in the App Store.

Other services

The app depends on others’ technology. Narration uses Kokoro-82M, provided under the Apache License 2.0. Short Stories, Long Stories, cover art, and titles use OpenAI’s services. Voice input uses Apple’s speech recognition. These services may change or become unavailable, and we are not responsible for them. See Licenses for credits and notices.

Changes and contact

We may update these additional terms, and will change the effective date when we do. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or on this site. Continuing to use Wander Story after a change means you accept it. Questions about these terms: support@three-coves.com.
